The Beginning of DT Photography
My love of photography began in high school. I took a photography class my junior year with instructor and professional photographer Warner Halverson. His class wasn't easy. We used 35mm, point and shoot cameras, and we developed our own film in the school's dark room.
I loved that class. I loved the assignment each week. I loved the smell of the chemicals, even if they did smell like ammonia. And vinegar. That stuff wasn't so good for the hands, even while wearing gloves.
When the semester was over I found my dad's SLR Nikon and began practicing my craft, and it wasn't until film cameras became obsolete that I jumped into purchasing a digital point and shoot.
Over the years I have evolved photographically and technologically. I now own a Canon Digital Rebel XTi and I try to shoot daily. As mom of two my photo time as decreased but I'm making an effort to start up again.
Hence the creation of this new photography blog. My journey will begin with just playing around with my camera and getting to know it's functions better. I'm also taking a photography class this Spring to learn the tricks of the trade.
Welcome to my blog, I hope you'll join me on this journey.
